Toes,Toofies, Trays & TaTas

I'm feeling unfocused, so welcome to Wednesday Randomness!

I have freshly painted toes!! This typically happens once a year, so it's very exciting news. My sister Amy took one look at my Myrtle Beach pedicure from July, shook her head sadly, and then dragged me  to the nail salon. She really had to twist my arm... There may have even been some kicking and screaming. NOT. Normally, I'd keep the news surrounding my stubby little toes to myself, but my sister-in-law Sarah requested to see what happens when you go crazy and jump off the red toe nail polish bandwagon.

So, as per your request, here are my mermaid toes Sarah! (OOOO! AAAA! Such shimmery, flippery pizzazz!)

That's the color Ariel's toes were after Ursula transformed her into a human. They just never did a closeup of her feet in the movie. Now you know. And knowing is half the battle.

In other non-toe related news...

Now that Joseph has passed the 6 month mark (HOW DID THAT HAPPEN??), we've started introducing some solids. We've had avocado, rice cereal, apples, and bananas so far. We even made our own apple sauce with the apples from our apple picking extravaganza.

It was really easy. Peel, core, and slice apples. Place them in a pot with about an inch of water and cover with a lid. Turn on high until they are steaming, then turn down to medium high and stir occasionally. Once the apples are all soft, blend them. Voila! Apple sauce.

Then we froze it in ice cube trays for individual servings. Forty-eight servings in all. Hip, hip hurray for making homemade baby food!

Mmm. Apples.

And bananas. Yum yum! He's taking well to people food, but he's still not sure about this whole texture thing.

And of course, the introduction of solid food means less runny, more smelly poops, ultimately culminating in the Largest Diaper Explosion in Joseph History. Up the back to the neck, down the legs to the knees. Innocent bystanders were definitely injured. They ran away screaming in terror. I somehow managed to refrain from picture taking during that episode. Lucky you!

I've reported his crime to the authorities and they are currently holding him for questioning. I might have to sell him to the gypsies when they return him to me. I haven't decided yet.

And finally, we have toofies!! Two to be exact. There has been some minor boob chompage and cheek thumpage with the appearance of said toofies. I will show no mercy in my quest to defend my unsuspecting tatas.

I thought for a while that he might be getting his canines first because he only ever wanted to chew on the sides. I was fully prepared to dress him as a baby vampire for Halloween. Instead, the two front bottoms showed up. Woo hoo for normal baby teething!

Since it's October, I've decided to name the toofies Lester and Lurch. I refer to them as L Squared.

Finally, I'm thinking Joseph could pull off Uncle Fester from the Addams Family for Halloween. Thoughts?

And this concludes my Wednesday Randomness. I hope you are all having a great day.

  1. Joseph is too cute to be Uncle Lester! He just has nice eyes, otherwise, he could totally pull it off!

I'm excited you're making your own baby food. I've been reading up on it at wholesomebabyfood.com.

  2. Love the toes! I loved making baby food for my boys. It was so easy and it's really a short time in their lives that you are pureeing things.
    He's a cutie!!
