Sandwich Shoppe Progress

For the first time since we bought the house, we've begun work on the Sandwich Shoppe. Yes, that's right, I'm actually going to blog about the Sandwich Shoppe for once. Shocking, I know. Do you remember what kind of shape the Sandwich Shoppe section of our house is in? No? Need a refresher? If so, click HERE.

We had visitors this past weekend. They came to take a look at the damage and come up with a game plan to fix it all. They even came up with a list of supplies and a diagram of the new roof!

Well, not these guys...
Just Pop:
And Uncle Steve:

These two wonderful guys spent a lot of time out in the Sandwich Shoppe with the Professor working out their plan. Then they went to Lowes to make their list of supplies. They even started tearing out walls and taking down water-damaged rafters:
Pop got rid of all of the rafters - it makes the space feel much more open!

Now we've just got to get all of the debris out of there:
Over the next couple of weeks, the Professor will be removing the rest of the water damaged walls and boards. He'll wait to remove the damaged roof until right before Pop and Uncle Steve come back later this month to help put a new one on. Then we'll have to pour a new concrete floor and put up new walls and ceilings.

I'm excited. We just might be able to open up the doorway/closet between the house and the Sandwich Shoppe in the next 6 months.
