Big Mirrors, Little Money

Remember how we've been drooling over mirrors in this post?

Well, now we have some! We found these tall, skinny rectangular mirrors at a Hardware Restore over Thanksgiving break in New Jersey for $10 a piece. The Professor's parents got them for us as a Christmas gift. Thanks!

And we picked these big rectangular mirrors up from the the crazy Hess furniture store today. Two for $20 and one for $25!!! How awesome is that! The frames are a little scuffed up, but nothing a little sanding and refinishing can't take care of.
Mr. Hess dropped the price down five dollars on two of the mirrors since I was getting more than one. I think I'm sweet on him :).
Mr. Hess, who has owned the store for over 50 years, looks to be about 80, and sounds like Louis Armstrong, said that he packs the furniture in and piles it up on purpose. He says customers like it that way. "You can't sell furniture in an open store!" If he leaves furniture sitting out in plain sight, people overlook it, but if it's hiding behind or underneath a bunch of other items, then people are curious and want a peek. That's when he gets them!

Whatever, it seems to be working!
Now I just have to figure out where to hang them in the house. Plenty of rooms, plenty of options.
