Turtle Talk

This is my first and only ultrasound so far:
Now that I'm in my second trimester, I feel relatively safe in beginning to share about our little one.

Just a quick note: The baby was practically doing jumping jacks and somersaults in this ultrasound and it was my first real "Holy crap - it's alive and inside of me..." moment. Pretty spectacular. And strange.

I would like to share some of the interpretations of my little baby's ultrasound with all of you. So far, this is what we've got:

gastropod
three-legged cyclops (this, from my husband...)
alien baby
"Congratulations! you're having a turtle"
"Why are you having a turtle?"
little nugget, or simply "nugget"
three-armed freak & weirdo

Or in the case of my Blacksburg sister-in-law and myself:
"It looked surprisingly more like a baby than I thought it would..."

Then again, with all of the turtle interpretations - maybe we should start calling the baby "Little Dude."
