History 101: Ye Olde Sandwich Shoppe

Since our house was sitting on the main highway of the Shenandoah Valley back in the early 1900s, the owners decided to make use of its location. Being the suave entrepreneurs of their day, they added this on to the side of the original house:

GRANDE Front Entrance of Sandwich ShoppeSide View with Oddly Placed and Sealed Door (don't forget the windows of every size ??)Back Door to "Kitchen" and Sealed Door to "Bathroom" (" " will all make sense once you see future posts!)

This was to become the famed Sandwich Shoppe of Ye Olde Gloree.

In the 1940s, this itty bitty space contained a short order kitchen and a small tabled area for customers. Sandwiches and tea were the order of the day. I have to do more research before I can give you specific details. I hope to find a picture of the shoppe in all of its mint green 40s glory. That would be tres cool!

Currently, the shoppe looks very sad and lacks said glory. Thank you inappropriately patched roof...Wait... IS THAT CARPET?!!?!??!! Words fail me.
Thanks to the ineptitude of whoever "repaired" the roof, the inside of Ye Olde Sandwich Shoppe is quite sad, indeed. Stay tuned for the big reveal of the Inside Story: "Molding Minty Sandwich Shoppe Disaster"

P.S. Quotation marks may be used in excess when referring the previous owners household decisions. Fear not. They will not harm you. Or will they? ATTACK!!!
