{Embrace} the Camera

The munchkin laughed, truly laughed, for the first time a few weeks ago and I caught it on camera. Baby laughter has magical powers. It can cure gout and free unicorns from storybook pages. It should be bottled, packaged, and peddled on the streets.

I believe that the combination of a flawless chicken impression, complete with clucking and head bobbing,  and the fully bearded face of my husband was just too much for the little guy. He couldn't contain the laughter anymore.

The laughter came bubbling out. My husband''s eyes widened and then he looked at me in amazement and said, "HE LAUGHED!!!" Then he continued with his chicken impression. It was one of those crystallized, " I'm never going to forget this" moments.

Aren't they sweet? I love them so much!

I decided to fool around with my favorite of the three pictures in Picnik and I came up with this:

I like it. I think I'll frame it.

Since the chicken clucking incident, he's been a little laughing lunatic. He thinks everything is funny.

Except for when Mommy walks out of the room with her (his?!) boobs. He doesn't think that's even remotely funny. He thinks I should leave them behind with him. I've tried to explain that they are attached, but he doesn't believe me.


Sometimes, he even pauses from nursing to smile and laugh at me. It's his way of letting me know how much he likes me my boobs.

All I have to do is bounce him or put "LA LA LA" to a tune and he begins to chuckle and guffaw. So far, no full on belly laughter, but it will come. In the meantime, I'm enjoying the hell out his big, dimpled, toothless smiles!
